Just because it's summer doesn't mean you have to wear yellow.
i have been dreaming of roomier trousers to help the summer pass more quickly.
Here are a few inspiration pictures of what i'm after.

A few weeks ago, while trying to find out more than i already know about the incredible Isabella Blow (stylist and nurturer of fresh young talent) i found these amazing images of her Belgravia apartment, which went up for sale last year, according to Times Online.
The spaces she created were incredible and bear such an intense likeness to who she was. I am a huge fan of people when they are able to expand their ideas and point of view into every aspect of their lives. Ms Blow has done so with seeming ease, as her apartment is clearly an extension of herself.
I particularly enjoy the way she incorporates wearable objects into the spaces elevating them beyond headpieces into the realm of artworks...an idea I have been shouting about for a long time. Why should beautiful objects that can be used not be proudly displayed while not being used? They are no less beautiful perched upon a shelf.
I'll stop clumsily jumbling your mind with misguided words and let the pictures do the talking.

This year, I have been increasingly compelled to think about interiors.
I don't know why, but it just happened. My illustrations have also, for the most part, evolved from being about just a person and what they are wearing to a person, their clothes and the spaces they like to occupy.
These thoughts have only cemented the idea that I am not going to be comfortable cemented into a one track career in architecture, but will most likely seek a position in one of the increasing number of "think tanks" that experiment in various fields of design to create an overall lifestyle aesthetic.

One such designer that recently caught my eye is Karen Lockhart. This New Zealander who has designed all of Karen Walker's boutiques, and assist with creative direction for Walker's line of jewellery also, has a particularly fresh aesthetic displayed through her foray into interiors, styling, and much much more.

I particularly enjoy the juxtaposition of playfulness with darker imagery, at times heightened by her use of colour. It adds a level of maturity and sophistication without losing that sense of childish curiosity that so many designers I love express.
I also really like the choices she makes in terms of colour. Never dull yet never overstated.

I hope she needs an assistant......(pick me!)

Here are a few samples from her website that really strike a chord.
